I'll
be featuring articles and explorations on astrology, the ancient
science of the stars and celestial bodies and their influence on
human affairs and events.
I
see astrology as a road map for our lives, from our natal charts
we can learn our challenges and our strengths in this lifetime and
proceed accordingly. We can learn our life's purpose and past lifes'
influences that challenge us to heal and grow. There are no "bad"
charts, they are all beautiful, unique blueprints of each individual
soul's journey.
I
remember the first time I'd gotten a natal chart done at a local
metaphysical shop. I couldn't wait to read it, and eagerly opened
the first page of this 20-some page document while parked in my
car in front of the store. I could almost hear the music of the
old "Twilight Zone" television series playing in
the background and Rod Serling's commentary..... "Picture
yourself viewing all the secrets and stories of your life presented
to you in black in white.... served to you by a stranger... in the
Twilight Zone...." dah dah dah dah! I was totally amazed
by the accuracy, and a bit unnerved!
Since
then, I've had a thirst to learn more, reading all I could and analysing
the charts of anyone I could get a birth date, time and place for,
none of my friends or acquaintances were immune to my probing! The
study of synastry, or astrological compatibility holds a special
interest for me, an incredible wealth of information on any relationship
can be gleaned from the comparative charts. Our attractions and
revulsions, our challenges and strengths shown to us in the placement
of planets, elements, sun and moon at the time of our birth.
I
hope to enlist the wisdom and talents of astrological professionals
and serious students in these Astrology pages in the future. In
the meantime, I've written a simple overview of astrological basics
in Astrology 101. If
you haven't had a natal chart done, there are many online sources
for free basic charts if you can furnish your birth date, time and
place. A favorite of mine is
Astrodienst, where you can choose from an extensive selection
of free charts when you register.
