From prehistoric cave drawings to the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, artists have aspired to "touch the face of God", to manifest their visions of divinity, touch upon the magnificience of creation or to warn of dark terrors and the punishments of hell. On these pages I will be featuring art and artists of all media who create their vision of Spirit, sing praises of Divine Bliss or ponder the sacred geometry and essence of creation. We'll feature stories on the great sacred art of the world and the religious and spiritual meanings embraced in their beauty. |
