~Love Poetry~
The phenomena of Twin Soul love has inspired writers, poets and artists... it seems every soul who's been blessed with this connection is also compelled to convey this "big love" to the world in art and beauty, in words and pictures.
I'm honored to share with you some of my very favorite poems by the famous and not so famous lovers that capture the essence of this soul connection, and music by my favorite artists.
The music is "Echoes" by Native American, Grammy Award-winning Flutist Mary Youngblood from the CD "The Offering". The haunting sound of the unique duel chambered flute, two flutes joined together as one. The melody conjures an image of wistful longing as the lone flute calls out, and the resonate harmony as the songs of each flute are joined. Recorded live in the Moaning Cavern of California, and used with the gracious permission of the artist.

Two lost souls,
searching for answers
Riding the winds,
desperate to change.
As they glide through the air,
they see each other,
recognizing the source of pain.
For a lingering moment,
they touch slowly.
Taking the time to feel again.
Slowly the winds stop blowing them
in different directions.
Their bodies collide with gentle perfection.
But, the stillness alarms her -
without motion he can harm her.
So she dances away,
the wind blows harder.
"Alive" she cries,
as she gains control,
but; as she flies, she realizes...
with his sweetness, she has left him a piece of her soul.
Electric BlueA love beyond love
bound in life beyond life
(life before life)
An enduring chain
linking soul to soul
in a celestial embrace.
They touch in rays of electric fire
and entwine in rays of cool blue.
Two to one heart
Two to one soul.
Ever parted,
Never lost.
Silent are the words never spoken.
Open hearts are ever broken.
Lonely are the years gone by.
Bittersweet the tears are cried.
A love beyond love.
Enduring in Electric Blue.
I sit silently facing him
Our hands touching softly
Gazing into those eyes I love so well
Eyes so familiar through centuries of lifetimes together
The eyes of my BelovedHis eyes were what I recognized first
When we found each other in this life
Eyes I had looked upon so many times before in so many faces
Wells so deep I could see my Beloved's soul
And touch the Being of pure light and love insideI long to lose myself in those eyes as they draw me in
Beckoning me to take refuge in the lush fertile valley of his soul
There I find a sanctuary of eternal peace and contentment
Filled with gentle breezes
That caress me softly and whisper words of loveMy Beloved's eyes are pools of clear clean refreshing water
Like mirrors reflecting only my true self back to me
I dive in with all my heart and soul
I splash swim play frolic
Like an orphan who has finally found her homeWhen tears of pain sorrow or anguish

When
we are apart, I lie awake at night
making love to the space between us
your fingertips are tracing my tongue
I draw you into my dreams
the sky folds around us
the stars feel like rain
and from so far away
you look like a tiny grain of sand
but you feel like the ocean
you remind me of the home I knew
before I knew I'd left it.
When
we are apart, I lie awake at night
sifting through memories
a tireless task
sometimes I find one that makes my skin tingle
and sometimes one that jabs at my heart
I am aware of the power
we summon together
to heal or to destroy
and I want you by my side
as long as there is a side to be by.
When
we are apart, I see my fear
I remember that I am small
that I am cold
that I am hungry
and I curl you around me
breath on my neck
hand at my breast
heart beating into my back
an echo of the last time

A
moment of happiness,
you and I sitting on the verandah,
apparently two, but one in soul, you and I.
We feel the flowing water of life here,
you and I, with the garden's beauty
and the birds singing.
The stars will be watching us,
and we will show them
what it is to be a thin crescent moon.
You and I unselfed, will be together,
indifferent to idle speculation, you and I.
The parrots of heaven will be cracking sugar
as we laugh together, you and I.
In one form upon this earth,

in another form in a timeless sweet land.

love like no other
my heart feels the call to you
the memory of separation rises
deeply carved in my heart

There is a secret fire igniting in my heart
dancing in rhythm with stars.
And far beyond the horizon another
mysterious flame flickers to the same
silent music.I know this burning desire has something
to do with the way the leaves frolic in poetic sway.
It's heat reflects the longing I feel to smuggle
vision into the waning world.One day, in heroic Promethean strides,
we will unite the fires as seekers of eternal flame,
we are One.And yet we remain divided so that life could
not for a moment forget the gravitational spiral of pure love.
